Feedback from users of the Harlan Hogan Porta-Booth
I'm really thrilled with t Porta Booth! Just getting used to it,
but it's a great benefit to controlling background and keeping consistency for
my daily radio commentaries 3 times daily. 80% of the time, I do these while on
the road in hotels—the Porta Booth is a God-send for keeping sounds of the
hallway out of the broadcast. Hope I get to meet you sometime.
Feel free to tell potential clients that it's being used every night to churn out the 'Huckabee Report' on 500 stations from some of the cheapest hotel rooms in America!
Gratefully,

Hey Harlan,
I'm a pretty busy film/TV actor along with my VO career.
When my friend told me about your booth, I grabbed it! I can't tell you how much
money it's made me since I don't have to turn down jobs because I'm on the road.
I don't have to tell my VO clients that I'm even on the road. I also got your
MicPort Pro preamp and it's so good I use it in my studio at home
even!
Thanks for saving my VO business!

Dear Harlan,
I own a busy production company that
focuses directly with online video and green screen animation and bought your
porta booth for my studio. We rigged it with a c-stand and scissor clamp mounted
table base so the talent can stand properly when recording. I use soundtrack pro
with the Behringer Podcast Studio kit and the quality is unbelievable!
I have to say this is by far the best little setup money can buy.
Cheers,

Lovin the Porta-booth
Harlan, I just have to say that the porta-booth
has been one of my greatest equipment investments yet. I'm down in Australia
staying with family for a two and a half week vacation. As you know being gone
from the game for that long can be bad for business, but with the porta-booth
I've been able to offer my clients consistent quality voice work. Best of all,
my entire studio takes up about as much room in my bag as a sportscoat.
I recorded a 20-market spot in a spare bedroom on the other side of the world...yes, a profitable holiday!
Cheers!

Hi Harlan,
I took my Porta-Booth along for the inauguration and we saw Michelle Obama on Monday in person and Tom Hanks brushed by us in Georgetown! ;-)
The booth worked great for my auditions and for close mic stuff.
Thanks again (PS: love my VO: cap!)!

The Porta-Booth ? worked out great. In a corporate environment when quick training modules are needed for customer support, there isn’t always time to hire voiceover talent and produce a full video. I've had situations where I was placing our product experts in closets in order to isolate the room noise and to record clear instructions for running our product. I used the Port-A-Booth in an average closed door office with thin walls. It actually isolated our product expert's voice giving us a very clean result in the end. Along with the MicPortPro, the recording was seamless into Apple's Final Cut Pro.
It's an especially great tool for Podcasts & training where inexperienced speakers have the opportunity to produce production quality results.

Harlan Hogan's 'Porta-Booth' helps reduce some of the 'boomy-ness' that's typical of recording in random offices and hotel rooms.

What a brilliant realization: You don't have to build a vocal booth big enough for both the mic and the performer, just the mic.

This is actually a seriously cool idea - If you can't shield the room itself, then shield the mic from the room - Cheers!

Harlan: I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your DVD (Voice-Over Success) - I've already picked up some great hints from it. As for the "Cone of Silence", your Porta-Booth - I've shown a half-dozen people in the department to show them how much noise it eliminates. I also tried it out in one of our interpretation booths and it works great! We had fan noises from the computer and ventilation system but it killed them both!

As someone just starting out in the voice-over business I find it quit difficult finding the right VO recording environment, mostly because professional studios aren't always economically feasible. I have found Mr. Hogan's port-a-booth to be a very practical solution that sounds great! Harlan Hogan keeps giving his best to the VO community, including real-world working solutions. Hats off to you sir!

To tell you the truth I was a little skeptical about the Porta Studio. I have always had a great studio with wonderful gear, super mics, etc. While I've recorded professionally in my studio: both music and VO, I've never been able to get "the sound". I read about the Porta Studio and thought I'd give it a shot.
Well, holy #$%^!!! All of the sudden without even cutting the hole in the back for the shot gun mic, I got "the sound". You guys are brilliant! Thank you so much! Tight, crisp, awesome. I can now compete.

Mr. Hogan,
I am just getting started in the VO biz and I can't really
afford to have a home studio. Following your instructions, I built a Porta-booth
but I used the wrong type of foam. When I found the pyramid-type you recommend
it was only being sold in bulk for way too much money. It was just more cost
effective to purchase your ready-made Porta-booth -and I am glad I did! I don't
need to be mobile with it just yet, since it is my "home studio," but its great
how quickly it folds up and the sound quality of my auditions are so much better
than they were! The Porta booth blocks out my bed room's acoustics, the hum of
my computer, even my son's breathing if he is taking a nap while I am recording.
I am way beyond happy with your product and I wanted to tell you so. Be well and stay blessed.

Hello Harlan,
I have been having a wonderful time recording auditions
in my office with your Porta-Booth. What a great invention. It's like being in
my studio booth.
Take care,
